How to Practice

How to practice? It would seem that this is the simplest questions to answer. Just take your instrument out of its case and play, right?

Turns out, there’s a bit more to practicing than just putting in the time. Sure, you can make some progress by simply putting in the hours with a fiddle under your chin. But for most of us, time is a pretty finite resource, so we don’t have the luxury of practicing for hours and hours every until, by hook or crook, progress happens.

Learning how to practice efficiently and effectively can make the difference between advancing as a player and simply treading water.

In this lesson, I’ll share a few tips that I’ve found helpful, both as a teacher and in my own playing.
