I’m so excited to announce that The High 48s will be teaching the Minnesota and Bluegrass and Old-Time Music Association’s jam camp in Richmond, MN this August.
The High 48s have taught at this jam camp several times over the years and it remains one of our favorites. It’s open to all ages and to folks who play all of the bluegrass instruments: fiddle, mandolin, guitar, bass and banjo. WE also do some singing, too (don’t worry, it’s optional).
The basic idea is this: jam campers form bands of their own and we instructors work with them to put together a some tunes to play live on the festival’s mainstage at the end of the week.
It’s always such a blast, and a perfect, low-pressure opportunity to get one foot into the world of playing music in a gigging band. The atmosphere of this jam camp is super relaxed and inclusive — we always have a lot of fun.
Hope you can join us!
