The High 48s will be back at the Minnesota Bluegrass and Old-Time Music Association’s big festival near Richmond, MN this year. In addition to playing a couple of mainstage sets, we’ll be teaching Jam Camp.
The camp is for beginning- and intermediate-level players and will include individual instrument instruction (in banjo, fiddle, flatpicked guitar, upright bass and mandolin) as well as group instruction in harmony singing (both duet and three-part harmonies), arranging, microphone technique and all those little things that go into putting on a good show.
The camp will culminate with a short stage show for all participants on Thursday evening. This will be the third time The High 48s have taught MBOTMA’s Jam Camp over the years, and it’s always complete blast! It’ a great way for beginning and intermediate players to get a toe in the water with jamming, playing in a group and performing onstage with other musicians.
Jam Camp runs Tuesday August 6th (after 6PM) through Thursday August 8th, 2013. $95 registration fee before July 15th, $120 after that date. Pre-registration advised. Class size limited to 12 students per instructor. For more information or to register call 800-635-3037 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
