Sheet Music
By popular request, I’m going to be posting transcriptions of some of my original tunes as well as a few of the exercises and fiddle tunes I teach in workshops and in my private lessons.
Here are a few transcriptions just to get things started:
Glenn’s Reel (PDF)
This is a tune I wrote in my late teens for my grandpa, Glenn Christopher, who was also a fiddle and mandolin player. I’ve played this tune with just about every band I’ve worked with since, including The High 48s, who have closed many a set with Glenn’s Reel.
Little Odessa (PDF)
Little Odessa is a three-part, Monroe-style tune with a little bit of an Eastern European flavor — thus the title. Little Odessa appeared on The High 48s’ 2010 release Up North and features a beautiful mandolin break by the great Monroe stylist Mike Compton.
